The rmdir command only works on empty directories. Because airflow/ contains files or subfolders, you must use the rm command with the recursive (-r) option to delete it.
1. Delete Recursively
Run the following command in your terminal to delete the folder and all its contents:
Bash
rm -r airflow/
Verification: Run
ls airflow/ or ls -l to confirm the folder is completely gone. If it returns an error stating the directory does not exist, the deletion was successful.2. Force Delete (If files are protected)
If you encounter prompts asking to override write-protected files inside the directory, add the force (
-f) flag:Bash
rm -rf airflow/
3. Delete with Administrator Privileges (If permission is denied)
If you receive a Permission denied error, use
sudo to grant the necessary administrative rights:Bash
sudo rm -rf airflow/
(Enter your system password when prompted. Note that characters will not appear on the screen as you type.)
Warning: The-rfflag deletes files and folders permanently without moving them to the Trash. Ensure the folder name is correct before executing.
